Progressive Spinal Rehabilitation
Restore healthy movement, reduce pain, and build long-term resilience with a personalized spinal rehab plan that blends targeted mobility work, neuromuscular training, and gentle traction. Our program is designed for people with neck or back pain, postural strain, disc-related issues, sports injuries, or anyone who wants a stronger, more balanced spine.
What Makes Our Program “Progressive”
-
Assessment-driven: We start with posture, range-of-motion, and movement testing to pinpoint limitations and asymmetries.
-
Layered progression: Sessions advance from pain reduction and mobility → stabilization and endurance → strength and dynamic control.
-
Evidence-informed tools: Cervical spine wall traction and a vibrating balance platform help decompress joints, retrain posture, and activate stabilizers.
-
Customized plans: Exercises and intensity are tailored to your condition and goals, with clear milestones and home support.
Key Modalities
Cervical Spine Wall Traction
Gently restores natural cervical curve, decreases compression, and improves mobility in the neck and upper back.
How it works
-
You’ll stand facing away from the wall with a padded cervical traction device positioned under the occiput (back of the head).
-
Light, sustained traction helps decompress facet joints and discs, encourages postural lengthening, and promotes a more neutral head-on-neck position.
-
Sessions typically last 3–8 minutes, starting low and building as tolerated.
Benefits
-
Reduces neck stiffness and tension headaches
-
Promotes cervical lordosis and postural alignment
-
Eases nerve irritation related to forward-head posture
-
Prepares tissues for corrective exercise
What you’ll feel
-
Gentle upward/forward lift under the skull
-
Stretch through the base of the neck and upper shoulders
-
Relief should feel “comfortable-strong,” never sharp or numb
Safety & suitability
-
We screen for contraindications (acute fractures, severe osteoporosis, instability, recent surgery, vascular compromise, severe radiculopathy, or unremitting dizziness).
-
Traction is always clinician-guided; intensity is adjusted immediately if discomfort occurs.
Vibrating Balance Platform (Whole-Body Vibration + Balance Training)
Enhances joint stability, core activation, and neuromuscular control while promoting circulation and recovery.
How it works
-
You’ll stand (or perform targeted exercises) on a platform that delivers controlled vibrations at set frequencies/amplitudes.
-
The mechanical stimulus triggers rapid muscle contractions, improving proprioception, balance, and postural reflexes.
Benefits
-
Activates deep stabilizers for the neck, spine, and hips
-
Improves balance, coordination, and joint alignment
-
Supports tissue perfusion and recovery between sets
-
Efficient training stimulus with low joint load
Typical progressions
-
Foundation: Neutral stance, soft knees, diaphragmatic breathing, chin-nod for cervical alignment
-
Stability: Split stance, lateral weight shifts, isometric band rows to integrate scapular control
-
Performance: Single-leg stance, anti-rotation presses, step-downs, and perturbation holds
Safety & suitability
-
Not advised during pregnancy, with acute thrombosis, pacemakers (device-dependent), fresh fractures, or uncontrolled cardiovascular/neurologic conditions. We’ll screen first.
-
Intensity, stance, and duration are matched to your tolerance and goals.
What a Typical Session Looks Like
-
Warm-Up & Mobility (5–10 min)
Targeted soft-tissue and mobility work for the cervical and thoracic spine; breathing to reduce tone. -
Cervical Wall Traction (3–8 min)
Gentle, supervised traction to decompress and prepare joints. -
Activation & Balance (8–12 min)
Vibrating platform drills to wake up stabilizers and improve proprioception. -
Corrective Strength (10–15 min)
Scapular setting, deep neck flexor training, hip-hinge patterns, and core bracing progressions. -
Cool-Down & Home Plan (3–5 min)
Recovery strategies and simple at-home exercises or traction guidance (if prescribed).
Who Benefits Most
-
Neck pain, tech-neck/forward-head posture
-
Tension headaches and upper-back tightness
-
Mild disc irritation, facet joint overload
-
Postural strain from desk work or driving
-
Athletes needing better spinal control and balance
-
Post-injury rehab after clearance from your provider
Results You Can Expect
-
Easier neck rotation and looking over the shoulder
-
Reduced daily stiffness and fewer flare-ups
-
Better posture without constant “reminding”
-
More confidence lifting, training, and working pain-free
FAQs
Will traction hurt?
No. You should feel a gentle stretch and relief. We adjust immediately if you feel sharp pain, numbness, or dizziness.
How many visits will I need?
Plans vary. Many patients notice changes in 2–4 weeks, with lasting results when exercises continue at home.
Can I use a home device?
Possibly. If appropriate, we’ll teach safe positioning, time, and frequency based on your evaluation.
Is the vibrating platform safe for my joints?
Yes—when appropriately dosed and coached. It provides a strong neuromuscular stimulus with low joint impact.
